A highlight of the visit of Pope Francis to Pietrelcina and San Giovanni Rotondo in southern Italy, 17 March, was when he entered the children's cancer ward of the “Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza” hospital that popular Italian saint Padre Pio founded. - VR

St Pio was always obedient, especially when persecuted.

ReplyDeleteI love St. Pio. I've been on pilgrimage to his tomb twice, and hope to go again soon. I've read all his letters. He would, without hesitation, condemn the writings of Francis and the confusion he is sowing. May St. Pio intercede for Francis, that he might be converted.
